KR Peters is a recognised leader in the marketing of residential housing estates throughout Melbourne. Founded by Peter Nicolls in 1982, the family-owned and operated business has thrived on quality service through continuous improvement and up-to-date technology and legislation. In the company’s early days, it exclusively marketed new estates on behalf of Metricon Homes. For a period of 15 years, the businesses worked hand-in-hand in many new housing projects across Melbourne. In the early days K R Peters office was established in Clarinda. The company marketed and sold every new development in the area, and continues to specialise in new housing estates across the city. “We’ve sold in excess of 20 000 properties,” says Peter, “and today, we’re selling to third generation buyers. They identify us as being marketers of new housing projects.”
The most prominent of KR Peters’ strengths lie in advising developers in acquiring broad acres, competitive marketing, developing suitable product to take to the market, both in land sizes and housing styles, and marketing products that will appeal to buyers within a target demographic. “We are able to take a project from a green field site to a complete community,” says Mr Nicolls. The company partners architects and town planners in order to be innovative and develop products on the leading edge of technology and design. “We’re trying to offer something that’s current, and complies with all government requirements.”
KR Peters is currently in the process of launching a $60 million development that will be known as Wantirna Rise, and be comprised of 113 residential home sites. A recently launched project in Keysborough, called Sarah Lands, consists of 78 lots. The company is also marketing the 300 lot Orchard Rise development in Berwick, as well as two 600 lot projects in Pakenham; Blue Horizons and Arden and the prestigious 118 lot housing estate known as Sienna in Mt Waverley.
In the four decades since its establishment, KR Peters has been the recipient of a number of industry and community awards, including two from the UDIA, for projects at Harbourtown in Patterson Lakes, and Sienna Mt Waverley.
“Our strength is that we have relationships with developers that were built over 30 years,” says Peter, “and those relationships remain strong today.” KR Peters is currently the exclusive agent for the State Trustees in the city of Knox. The group also has the contract for defence housing in the city of Melbourne.
Peter Nicolls has worked within the industry for 38 years. The flagship office is now based in Wantirna South. “I’ve been responsible for the majority of new developments in the city of Knox,” he says. “We have sold in nearly every new suburb in Melbourne.” Peter has sold land Melbourne wide, and has worked for most of the area’s major developers. “I pride myself in building relationships,” Peter continues, “and it’s amazing where you see the KR Peters signs. Today, everyone is taking the franchise option because it gives them security and recognition, but for myself, people know that when they appoint us, we deliver, real results.”
